Les Roches Marbella Graduates the Class of Autumn 2014 (Video)

On Friday, December 12th, 43 students of Les Roches Marbella were awarded the Bachelor of Business Administration in International Hotel Management and 58 students obtained their Postgraduate Diploma.  Representing 29 countries from around the world, the class of Autumn 2014 will soon embark on the next journey of their professional lives in the international hospitality industry.

The graduation ceremony which could be followed live and now can be viewed via streaming – was attended by Mr. Jose Luis Hernandez, Tourism Councilor of Marbella Town Hall and featured an opening speech from Mr. Carlos Vogeler, Director – Executive Secretary Members Relations and Regional Director for the Americas at World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Carlos Díez de la Lastra, CEO/General Director of Les Roches Marbella and Ms. Maria José Aparicio, Academic Director of Les Roches Marbella.

During the ceremony, José Luis Hernández, delivered Marbella pins to the graduating students making them "ambassadors of the city for life" and Mr. Carlos Vogeler congratulated the new graduates for “ … embarking on one of the most prosperous and dynamic economic activities in today’s modern world full of opportunities and challenges and would like to congratulate you for that and welcome them to this special billion dollars’ worth Tourism Industry, which currently represents, as many already know, 9% of GDP, 30% of total exports of services and what is even more important one in 11 jobs worldwide.”

On the other hand, Mr. Carlos Díez de la Lastra stressed that the new graduates begin their new professional journey as part of Les Roches Marbella for life, not only as alumni, but also as member of a network of top hospitality professional worldwide. He addressed to them and stated: “our goal and mission was to offer the best education for your professional career, but also hope to have accompany you on your personal growth during these years, through learning personal values and soft skills such as: humility, discipline, responsibility and concern for the good of others, as these are also important attributes for your future as leaders of an industry based on service and attention to people. Now you are ready to face this challenge of life. You are now ready to succeed in managerial careers in this dynamic Hospitality Industry and in international business in general. On behalf of Les Roches Marbella, we would like to thank you for trusting your university education in us.”
